Product Overview
Trails is a collection of evocative soundscapes and string textures, crafted by composer Alexander Parsons. The library features solo strings, including a violin performed by Parsons, alongside unique synth samples and a rare Faulkner Dulcichord, all designed to create rich, atmospheric layers suitable for various scoring contexts.
Details
The library includes sixteen solo violin and cello textures, recorded in a dry studio to facilitate extensive sound manipulation. Articulations range from long sustains to short dynamic swells, allowing for expressive phrasing and layering. The Granular Engine transforms these recordings into evolving textures, with options to reverse, mutate, and tweak sounds, complemented by 57 curated presets for quick inspiration.
In addition to the string textures, Trails features a Layer Blends engine that integrates 28 unique synth sounds, enabling the blending of up to three samples controlled via the mod wheel. This setup offers 546 possible combinations, enhancing the library's versatility. The Faulkner Dulcichord adds a distinctive tonal character, with Colour and Timbre Shift controls for further sound shaping. Each performance was captured with a combination of close and room microphones, resulting in a broadcast-ready mix that can be layered with atmospheric sounds for added depth.
