Product Overview

Sangara is a diverse library featuring over 70 percussion, wind, and string instruments from Southeast Asia, crafted in collaboration with composer Richard Harvey. This collection captures the unique musical essence of the region, offering a palette rich in color and texture, ideal for scoring and creating vivid soundscapes.

Details

The library includes a wide range of instruments, such as plucked and bowed strings, various winds, and an extensive selection of percussion. Articulations cover common sustains and staccatos, alongside traditional techniques specific to each instrument. Many instruments are recorded chromatically, enhancing their versatility for melodic and harmonic use.

In terms of performance, the library features up to six mixable mic positions, including vintage spot mics, allowing for tailored soundscapes. The recordings were made at Karma Studios in Thailand, utilising the expertise of local musicians, which adds authenticity to the captured sounds. Instruments like the Thai phin and Burmese saung-gauk showcase distinct tonal qualities, while percussion options range from traditional frame drums to tuned gongs.

Sangara also supports a flexible workflow with the SINE player, enabling users to merge mic positions and easily remap controls. This adaptability makes it suitable for a variety of scoring contexts, from cinematic compositions to more intimate arrangements, all while maintaining the rich cultural heritage of the instruments.
