Product Overview
Phoenix Orchestra offers a contemporary Chinese chamber orchestra experience, featuring a diverse range of traditional instruments. This library is designed to create authentic Chinese music, suitable for both ancient and modern contexts, making it a valuable resource for scoring projects that require cultural depth.
Details
The library includes 21 individual instruments, seven ensembles, and four orchestral sections, encompassing plucked strings, bowed strings, winds, and percussion. Instruments such as the gaohu, erhu, guzheng, and pipa are represented, each with characteristic articulations, swells, and ornaments. The recordings were made in situ, capturing the ensemble in a traditional seating arrangement, which enhances the authenticity of the sound when layering instruments.
Each instrument features true legato and a variety of dynamic articulations, allowing for expressive melodic lines. The library is fully playable, with no pre-recorded phrases, ensuring that composers can create unique performances. Four mic positions are available, including close and tree configurations, enabling fine-tuning of the mix to suit different scoring needs. The collaboration with master musicians from the Ding Yi Music Company adds a layer of expertise and authenticity to the performances.
