Details
The library includes a variety of articulations such as legato sustains, marcatos, harmonics, motion tremolos, staccatos, spiccatos, and pizzicatos, each recorded with multiple dynamics. The legato sustains for both instruments are designed for expressive playing, with the violin offering three types of legato and the cello featuring a portamento bias in the higher register. Same-note repetitions are supported with round-robin functionality to enhance realism.
Recording took place in an ambient hall, utilizing close, section, and main/far mic positions, with a new section mic that leans towards close capture. This setup allows for a versatile sound that can be tailored to various scoring contexts. The motion tremolos are particularly noteworthy, providing a fast, interval-like feel without being strictly legato, adding a unique texture to compositions.
Overall, Pacific Solo Strings is well-suited for film scoring and other projects requiring expressive string performances, blending seamlessly with orchestral arrangements while maintaining a distinct character.
