Product Overview

Maleventum Pompeii features a collection of horns and percussion inspired by Ancient Rome, recorded in a unique Roman water cistern at the archaeological site of Cecina, Italy. This library captures a wide range of instruments, including the Roman Cornu, Lituus, and various drums, offering a rich sonic palette that evokes scenes of ancient battlefields and rituals.

Details

The library includes 15 meticulously crafted Kontakt instruments, allowing for both solo performances and layered compositions. Instruments are recorded with both close and room microphones, providing flexibility to blend intimate sounds with more expansive, atmospheric tones. The collection encompasses a variety of horns, flutes, and percussion, including Timpana and Crotala, along with sound design elements like weapons and environmental effects.

Playable solo instruments feature different articulations and legato options, while the War Horn Builders enable users to create custom horn sounds by manipulating layers and microphone balances. The percussion loops and one-shots are structured to evoke the sound of ancient war drums, with multi-sampled big drums and simple one-shots for smaller instruments. The intuitive GUI allows for detailed control over parameters, enhancing the creative possibilities for composers working in film, TV, and game scoring.
