Hammers + Waves - Prepared features two distinct instruments: the Obscura Grand and the Muted Relic, both designed to offer unique textures for modern compositions. The Obscura Grand employs a felt strip between the hammers and strings of a C6 Conservatory Grand, resulting in a soft, intimate sound, while the Muted Relic, created from an 1890 Schaff Brothers upright, delivers a plucky tone through treated strings.
