Evolution 10 String Stick captures the unique sound of the Chapman Stick, an instrument that blends the range of a piano with the expressiveness of a guitar and bass. This library allows for a wide array of musical expressions, from percussive staccatos to smooth melodies, all while maintaining the instrument's harmonically rich character.

Details

The library features ten strings divided into five treble and five bass, providing a playable range of over five octaves. Each string is sampled individually across the fretboard, ensuring a detailed representation of the instrument's capabilities. The library includes various articulations such as sustains, muted notes, natural harmonics, and special effects like string slaps and divebombs, with two dynamics and four round-robins for each articulation. Legato samples are also included for slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs.

Designed for ease of use, the instrument automatically determines string and fret positions based on adjustable hand placements, allowing for intuitive play from a MIDI keyboard. The sound can be shaped further with both as-recorded and enhanced signals, which can be blended to suit your mix. Developed in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, the library benefits from analog recording techniques that highlight the instrument's rich tonal qualities. Additionally, a built-in effects collection and a powerful mapping system enhance playability, enabling control over articulations through various MIDI conditions.
