The instrument features 11 deeply sampled articulations, amounting to of multi-samples, with 180 snapshots for quick access to various sound states. The interface includes four primary knobs—Grist, ADSR, Morph, and Space—allowing for intuitive manipulation of sound characteristics. The Morph knob controls both EQ and ADSR settings, while the Grist knob introduces a layer of noise for added texture.

Drift 002 also introduces a three-way BPM-synced tremolo system, which enhances rhythmic movement and adds depth to the sound. Each sound source can be automated for dynamic control, and the chaos page introduces further unpredictability.
