Cloud Bass is a unique double bass and garden string sample library that redefines traditional string sounds. By employing an unconventional bowing technique using coarse garden twine, it produces a range of textures from low, rumbling thuds to delicate swarms, making it suitable for experimental and cinematic compositions.

The library features eight deeply sampled articulations, including various twine bowing techniques, accent bows, and thumping with a drum beater. Each articulation is recorded with multiple round-robins and velocity layers, ensuring a nuanced performance. The use of different microphones, such as the AKG C414 and Barcus Berry Planar contact mic, captures the intimate details of the instrument while allowing for a broad tonal palette.

In addition to the unique bowing techniques, Cloud Bass includes six selectable analogue sub bass waveforms sourced from Moog Voyager and DSi Pro 02, expanding its sonic capabilities. Effects per articulation include low and high pass filters, tremolo, EQ, and reverb sends, with advanced controls for automatable MIDI manipulation.
