Details
The library includes samples recorded in both stereo and mono, with microphones positioned at the back of the piano. Four different cassette decks were used to process the samples, each contributing unique tonal qualities. Deck A offers high-quality recordings with low pitch instability, while Deck B introduces a looser drive belt for added character. Deck C is the noisiest, providing a medium level of pitch instability, and Deck D shares similarities with Deck A but features more pronounced instability.
Each note has been carefully denoised to prevent noise stacking during polyphonic play, while still allowing for some natural noise to enhance realism. A noise knob provides flexibility to adjust the volume of this noise independently. The Kontakt version includes custom impulse responses for convolution reverb, with options for placement before or after insert effects. The instrument also features simulated round-robin functionality, enhancing the realism of faster passages. With a straightforward interface and a variety of presets, this library is well-suited for those seeking vintage sounds and unique textures in their compositions.
