Product Overview

Berlin Harpsichords features two meticulously sampled instruments: a French harpsichord and an Italian harpsichord, both recorded at the Teldex Scoring Stage. This collection captures the evocative sound of the harpsichord, making it suitable for both baroque compositions and contemporary works that require a touch of historical nuance.

Details

The French harpsichord, modeled after a mid-18th century Henry Hemsch instrument, offers three stops and a harp stop, producing a clear and bell-like tone. In contrast, the Italian harpsichord, crafted by Markus Fischinger, features two stops and delivers a rich, full-bodied sound. Both instruments include multiple stop combinations, allowing for a variety of tonal options.

Berlin Harpsichords is equipped with round-robins for sustains and staccatos, enhancing playability and realism. The collection provides six mic positions, including close and spot mics, tree mics, and a surround channel, enabling detailed control over the spatial characteristics of the sound. This setup ensures seamless integration with other libraries in the Berlin Series, particularly Miroire, which focuses on baroque instruments and voices.

With its intimate timbre and attention to detail, Berlin Harpsichords is well-suited for scoring contexts that require both historical authenticity and contemporary flair, making it a versatile addition to any composer’s toolkit.
