BBO Solaris features a rich ensemble of low and high woodwinds, combining the growling tones of contrabassoons with the brightness of high winds. This library excels in creating clusters, runs, and arpeggios, making it suitable for both dramatic and ethereal scoring contexts.

Details

The low winds section comprises eight musicians, including three contrabassoons, two bassoons, one contrabass clarinet, and two bass clarinets. Articulations include bold and agile shorts, long notes, espressivo, and various swells, all available in unison and octaves, as well as in clusters. The high winds section features ten musicians, enhancing the overall range and texture.

Time-stretch capabilities allow for tempo adjustments without altering pitch, providing flexibility in performance. The library is recorded with multiple microphone setups at Synchron Stage Vienna, including Decca tree and surround configurations, ensuring a versatile sound that can adapt to different mixing needs. The crossfade patch enables seamless transitions between unison and cluster articulations, enhancing playability and expression.
