Details

The library includes individual samples of all registers: the upper and lower 8' registers, the 4' register, and the lute stop, with combinations of the 8' registers and a "Tutti" setting for complex harmonic overtones. Each note is recorded with eight variations to capture the natural nuances of the instrument, ensuring that no two notes sound identical, which is essential for maintaining authenticity in trills and rapid passages.

Mechanical details such as key release sounds are also included, recorded in four variations per note and register, contributing to a realistic playing experience. The instrument was sampled at 412 Hz in Valotti tuning, with presets available at 440 Hz. Over 3,900 individual recordings were made in the Aufseß concert hall using high-quality microphones and preamps from DS-audioservice, ensuring clarity and depth in the sound. The library is compatible with Native Instruments™ Kontakt® (full version required) and includes an essay on the instrument's history and construction.
