Details
The library captures the harpsichord with seven register combinations, including two 8” and one 4” stops, as well as options for “Peau de Buffle” and lute stops. This allows for a variety of tonal colors, from bright and clear to soft and mellow. Each note is recorded in eight variations to ensure a natural sound, particularly effective for trills and rapid passages. The instrument's unique mechanical details, such as key release noises, are also included in four variations per key, enhancing the realism of the performance.
Over 4,200 individual samples were recorded at 192 kHz/24 bit using specialized microphones and preamps, ensuring high fidelity. The library is compatible with Native Instruments™ Kontakt 6 and higher, offering presets in both Valotti tuning at 415 Hz and standard tuning at 440 Hz. This attention to detail in both the instrument's capture and the sample design makes it a valuable tool for composers seeking authentic harpsichord sounds.
