Product Overview

Luthéal Piano - Edition MIM features one of the rarest pianos, originally designed by George Cloetens, which modifies the sound of a grand piano through a unique mechanical system. This library captures the instrument's intimate timbre, making it suitable for classical compositions, particularly those from the transitional period between harpsichord and piano.

Details

The library includes over 9,500 individual samples, chromatically recorded across four distinct sound colors, each with up to 32 dynamic levels. Articulations encompass the piano's core sound, as well as additional registers like the Clavecin and Harp Tirée, which produce rich, overtone-laden tones. Key and pedal noises are also captured, enhancing the realism of the performance.

Recording took place at the Musical Instrument Museum in Brussels, utilising high-quality Wagner U47w microphones and Crane Song Flamingo preamps, ensuring a detailed and nuanced capture at 192 kHz/24 Bit. The samples are provided as ready-to-use presets for Native Instruments Kontakt, allowing for immediate integration into your projects.
