Details
The library includes nearly 550 individual recordings, capturing the instrument's character across various articulations. While the harpsichord is not velocity-sensitive, it offers nuanced tonal variations with each key press, thanks to eight round-robins per note. This approach maintains the instrument's natural elegance, especially during trills and rapid passages.
Key noises upon release are also recorded in four variations for each note, contributing to a more authentic playing experience. The samples were recorded in the acoustically rich environment of Herrenhaus Hasselburg using high-quality Wagner™ U47w® tube microphones, Crane Song™ Flamingo® preamps, and Universal Audio™ 2192® converters, ensuring a detailed capture of the instrument's timbre. The library is available in original Kirnberger III tuning (378 Hz) with presets also provided in 440 Hz.
